Right before Christmas, Talk About Watches, a rapidly growing watch sales and blog site, offered these Chinese made Crotons for sale at $49.00.

I snagged one for a test run and was immediately impressed – it’s automatic and has a very nice heft to it.

One of my friends had asked if I might find an automatic watch as he liked the sweep of that second rather than the quartz ticks.

I handed it to him for Christmas and he loves it right out of the box.

Uh oh….would Michael offer another round of these? I really liked the look of the three dials in white, black and blue.

It’s always difficult for me to choose one dial…

I took to my keyboard and sent a note to Michael.

It turns out that they were going to offer it again and literally two minutes later the deal was back!

My Croton Auto is this blue one. I like Blue dials a lot and have three or four as of now including a lefty Invicta and a Movado Gentry.

The crown is screw down which I personally prefer for added water tight reliability. I have watches that I won’t even wear washing my hands!

At 10ATM/330 feet of water resistance, This watch I feel would stand up to even an accidental pool plunge and some slashing when washing my hands.

The bracelet is solid but not that heavy and the clasp has a fold over lock that clicks firmly into place. To open It, lift the lock and press the two releases.

Overall the bracelet adds to the heft of the watch, something I personally like for a diver’s watch.

The exhibition case back allows you to see the balance wheel in motion.

So far it have worn it a few times and wish the lume was a bit stronger – it’s pretty dim in the dark compared to other brands. In daylight the white hands and markers stand out making it very easy to read.

The bezel is uni-directional and clicks securely. It does not feel like it will move just getting brushed up against my pocket while retrieving my wallet. I like to use the bezel for timing stuff.

As I wear different watches each day, If this one loses a second or five it wouldn’t be noticed while it’s on my wrist.

For the price, this is quite a deal for an automatic Croton made in China.

Michael and his crew have had some great deals on watches – Talk About Watches has offered many different brands and collectibles available to their email list and Facebook group members.

If you’d like to get in on the Talk About Watches website deals and news, you can find them here: https://talkaboutwatches.com/

Conclusion: this Croton will be a great daily wearer!
